Advancing Economic Justice through a Workforce Development Pipeline

In 2018 the Chelsea Collaborative expanded direct services and supports for local residents to connect more families to economic stability and mobility through a Workforce Development Pipeline. The Pipeline addresses the economic barriers faced by community members by connecting them to work readiness training and/or direct job placement in expanding industries throughout the region, including hospitality, trade unions, and more. We engage reputable employers, such as Wash Cycle Laundry, Encore Casino, and others as partners to achieve our shared goals for economic development in Chelsea and beyond.

The Pipeline includes sequential and complementary learning opportunities for community members to build skills in English, computers, basic literacy, citizenship, and job readiness. Career advising helps community members determine best-fit pathways, complete resumes, and identify job openings while case management connects people to wraparound supports that enable them to access benefits and resources (e.g. housing, healthcare, transportation, etc.) that increase family stability and employment readiness.
